Care Bears is a cartoon that many moms grew up with. However, this popular cartoon of old has been updated for a new generation of kids! With the old cartoons making a comeback, as well as new computer animated movies, the Care Bears (and their cousins) can be enjoyed by both girls and boys. With lots of books and movies, stickers and games, Care Bears is a great theme for your child’s next birthday party.

Greet your guests into “Care-A-Lot” when they arrive! Have a caring meter displayed prominently and let everyone know that it will stay at the highest setting so long as everyone at the party keeps caring and sharing! Decorate with rainbow colored streamers and have several puffy pillows on the floor for the clouds.

Next, you can have a “Hunt for the Care Bears”. Hide enough Care Bear toys around your home or yard for every guest. (Stuffed toys are great, but you can also find figurines, board games, and videos.) Have maps with Care Bear stickers attached to show where the Care Bears are hiding. With map in hand, each child can run to find their own Care Bear treasure! (If worried about the “I want that one” that could happen with children this age, hide all the same toy for each guest!)

Now, if outside conditions are right, grab your Care Bear bubbles and go and fill the sky with them! (Bubbles in Care Bear containers are available online and at party supply stores!) Or, have Care Bear balloons filled with helium and watch them float into the air like the Care Bears huge hot air balloon. (If parents say it is okay, attach names and addresses to the balloon to see if the guests can find a pen pal!)

Food at a Care Bear party can be anything you want. In “The Big Wish Movie”, all the Care Bears took their new neighbors in Care-A-Lot on a picnic. Why not have a picnic with all the Care Bears you found during the “Hunt” earlier in the party? You can serve sandwiches, cake, cookies, fruit, veggies, crackers, pie…anything you would like.

To end the party, you can purchase a Care Bears piñata and fill it with little toys and candy or stickers and dried fruit bags. The prizes you put inside can be the party favors that the guests take home. Or, if you want to calm all the excited party attendants, just put in one of the many Care Bear videos and let them relax and enjoy some caring fun.

The Care Bears theme is easy to find in many party outlet stores. You will be able to find plates, cups, napkins, decorations, invitations and thank you notes with a Care Bears design.
